He was a Human Frontier Science Program Long-term Fellow at ETH Zurich from 2015 to 2018 and an Assistant Professor at The University of Tokyo, Graduate School of Science from 2018 to 2022. He has been Specially Appointed Associate Professor in Earth-Life Science Institute, Tokyo Institute of Technology since 2022. In October 2024, the name of the university was changed to Institute of Science Tokyo due to the merger of universities.
