Initiative

Initiatives

The IFs initiative has three levels: living, social, and planetary.
At the ultra-macro earth level, the Space Humanity Initiative and the Planetary Wellbeing Initiative consider living on the moon and Mars, as well as planetary wellbeing. The Social Dilemma Initiative and the Social Phase Transition Initiative, at the macroscopic social level, address problems within human groups, such as nations and societies.
The Human Transforming Initiative and the Evolutions in Eating Initiative consider the physical and mental potential of humans, as well as the future of food, which is essential for life.
Ideas gained from one initiative are immediately applied to others, creating new ideas.

  • 01
    Planetary Wellbeing Initiative

The global environment affects human wellbeing, and human behavior affects the wellbeing of the planet. We will explore the dynamic relationship between people's wellbeing and the wellbeing of the planet, and outline a path to an alternative future where people's wellbeing equals the wellbeing of the Earth.
  • 02
    Social Dilemma Initiative

We will combine the humanities, social sciences, and science to find holistic solutions to social issues with inevitable trade-offs, which cannot be fully optimized.
  • 03
    Social Phase Transition Initiative

Assuming that society is undergoing a phase transition like matter, what happens at its boiling or melting point? Are there triggers or signs before a social phase transition occurs? In this study, we will use mathematical models based on examples such as responses to global crises and the spread of innovations to elucidate social phase transitions.
  • 04
    Human Transforming Initiative

To what extent can human beings change? We will explore the potential of physical functional forms, including the limits of human movement, the variety of organ functions, the resilience of the human spirit, and the capacity for hypergrowth in the face of adversity. Additionally, we will address telepathy, considered the ultimate form of communication, using epidemiological studies of quantum entanglement, twins, and parents and their children.
  • 05
    Space Humanity Initiative

We will study the science, technology, and ideology necessary for expanding human activities into space and creating new societies on the Moon and Mars. We will also consider the impact this expansion will have on Earth, as well as the societal and value transformations it will bring.
  • 06
    Evolutions in Eating Initiative

Technology is creating new foods and changing our experience of eating. The way our culture and body have nurtured "eating" may offer hints for the future that differ from mass production. We will explore how society and technology can enrich the meaning of "eating" from an interdisciplinary perspective.
