Received Ph.D. in Contemporary Asian Studies from the Graduate School of Global Studies at Doshisha University in 2018. After serving as a JSPS Research Fellow and a MEXT Distinguished Fellow, he became an associate professor at IFs, Institute of Science Tokyo in 2025. His publications include "Post-Shimagurumi no Okinawa Sengo Shi" (Yushisha); "Tsunagaru Okinawa Kingendai Shi" (BORDERINK, co-editor); "Katariau Okinawa Kingendai Shi" (BORDERINK, co-editor); "50 Years since Return to Japan: The Current State of Ryukyu and Okinawa History" (University of Tokyo Press, co-author), among others. He received the 8th Okinawa Bookstore Prize (Okinawa Category) Award for Excellence and the 30th Japan Association for Social Policy Studies (JASPS) Encouragement Award.
