Graduated from Tokyo Medical and Dental University School of Medicine in 2000, completed the doctoral course at Tokyo Medical and Dental University Graduate School of Medical and Dental Sciences in 2004 (M.D.), and received his M.D. from Harvard School of Public Health in 2006 (Master of Public Health). He has been a Professor of Public Health at Tokyo Medical and Dental University since 2016, and a Visiting Scholar at Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health on sabbatical from April 2023 to March 2023. In October 2024, the name of the university was changed to Tokyo University of Science due to the merger of universities.
He is the author of many books, including “Recommendation of Microgravity Thinking” (Taishukan Shoten, 2025), “Evidence of Child Rearing” (Taishukan Shoten, 2024), and “Happiness is Transmitted to People” from a Medical Perspective (Ushio Shuppansha, 2018).
