Yunik Shin
French Literature, Philosophy of Science and Technology, Disability Studies, Analysis of the Future of the Cosmic Mankind in Classical Texts and Various Entertainment Works
Born in 1996. Received an M.A. in Humanities and Social Sciences from the University of Tokyo.
He specialized in 18th-century French thought, particularly the educational philosophy of Jean-Jacques Rousseau.
Due to spinal muscular atrophy, a congenital disease designated by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, he requires 24-hour care.
He is currently working on a critical examination of the concept of the independent human, beginning with the issues of physical disability and dependence on others.
He also engages in cross-genre activities, such as critiques and dialogues that bridge literature, thought, science fiction, visual culture, and more. He is currently seeking to move back and forth between academia and the public sphere.
