Prof. Longo holds a PhD in Molecular Biophysics from the Florida State University. His doctoral work used experimental approaches to study symmetric protein folding and evolution. As a PostDoctoral researcher at the Weizmann Institute, Prof. Longo developed expertise in bioinformatic approaches to reveal evolutionary connections between ancient enzyme families. The Longo Group at the Earth-Life Science Institute employs experimental and computational approaches to interpret and integrate diverse records of protein history.
