ABSTRACT

This seminar tries to give an overview on Horizon Europe Programme and its evolution from the 2021 and 2022 calls up to now, and to the months ahead. What is the Strategic Programming of Horizon Europe and what is useful for. How the newcomers (including Japanese researchers) can participate and be attractive for consortium building. To have a vision on the future calls, and how to look for the strategies and policies related, who could be the actors involved in their lobby, etc.… The seminar will bring a better understanding of the evaluation process and tips when preparing a proposal. This is useful both when writing the full proposal, or even when we are only a partner providing inputs to the coordinator. The objective is to visualize what are the key points of an excellent and competitive proposal and how we can contribute to better position it. Real-life examples winning proposals will be given, and some strategies for participating: forums, events, how to become more visible, what are the strong points that we have to spotlight to become more attractive for consortium building… what are the entities lobbying in Horizon Europe.
In sum, we will provide the necessary tips for elaborating Horizon-Europe proposals from the Social Sciences, Humanities and Environmental Sciences. We will introduce a characterization of the current situation and its consequences. What are the preliminary steps in the preparation of a proposal: the work program, the formulation of the idea, the care of a good proposal, the scientific review of the problem. The relevance of going beyond the state of the art. The methodology and the work plan. The specification and definition of tasks and deliverables. Implementation and management, relevant aspects.
