Takamitsu Yamamoto

History of scholarship, Game studies
After working as a game creator, he became involved in writing, creative work, and education. Since 2021, he has been affiliated with the Institute for Liberal Arts at Institute of Science Tokyo (formerly Tokyo Institute of Technology), where he primarily teaches philosophy. His publications include "The Ecology of Literature", "The Catcher in the Marginalia", "The Design of Memory", "Literary Problems (F+f)+", "Reading Hyakugaku Renkan", and "Introduction to Programs That Change the World." Edited works include "Science Books for Understanding the World". Co-authored works include "Building Libraries, Living in Libraries" and "Books That Changed the World" (both with Mari Hashimoto), "Can Understanding the Brain Lead to Understanding the Mind?", "If Epictetus Were Here, He'd Say This About Your Worries.", and "Humanistic, Too Humanistic" (all with Hiromitsu Yoshikawa), and "Artificial Intelligence Explained Through Games for High School Students" (with Yoichiro Miyake). Translations include Katie Salen & Eric Zimmerman's "Rules of Play: The Fundamentals of Game Design" and John R. Searle's "MiND: The Philosophy of Mind" (with Hiromitsu Yoshikawa), among others. He runs the YouTube channel “Philosophy Theater.”
